Devlog, Jan 15 - *Flip flip flip flip*

Lore update is... imminent!

I put out a sneak peek of build 06, with the GUI changes, last week. At the time, my goal was to wrap up the lore stuff within another week, then 'formally' release the next build.

Well, we're almost there.

Here's the actual update:

I finished off the page flipping functionality last weekend, and surprisingly quickly - I'd expected it to be a complex shader that took me a few days of focus, but I got the prototype nailed down in about an hour or two and finished it up in just a few more.

Showing the flip effect more closely with just some sample data.

That represents the single biggest task of the entire body of work that is this new lore system - an aesthetic one, yes, but the piece that pulls the entire project toether. Since the code for handling turning my spreadsheet of lore data into a properly laid out book was already handled (I actually had finished that part back in early Dec, before I even started the GUI work), all that's left is finishing up the entries and some smaller tasks.

It's still a lot of work to go, but I think realistically it'll only be a few days more. There's over 40 lore entries in the current book,  with each needing to be drawn and written, and the other tasks are small but are also numerous - small things like making sure zone entries don't unlock if you haven't found that zone yet, or making it clearer when you're trying unsuccessfully to scan something you've already studied.

Should just be a couple days more, including testing. See ya soon!

(Psst-- I post progress and behind the scenes stuff on our Discord! Come take a look!)
