Feb 2022 devlog - UI for U & I!
Hi folks! It’s that time of month.
I’m trying the video devlog format again to see if it’ll save me more time than November’s, with some adjustments - this time I’m not basically writing my notes on what I want to say first, so I’m not sort of halving-then-doubling the work involved. It’ll make my tone a little more off-the-cuff, but you can let me know if that does or doesn’t work for you so I’ll know for next time.
It’s also on the long side - feel free to use the timestamps to jump around! Part of what takes time (whether writing or editing) is saying everything worth saying in a way that is also concise, so I just didn’t bother trying to be concise this time.
Topics, more or less in order:
- New settings menu
- Keybinding UI
- Skill swap menu for changing spells on the fly
- HUD redesign (in-progress)
- The conversation graphing tool, in many parts!
- The grapher itself
- How conversations are attached in the game
- The export files created (very technical, yeah) and how that opens up localization
- Some new music
Cheers!
Jake
